Chalet Jean-France is a real home from home, very comfortably furnished and our most popular catered chalet, so do book early. The chalet fuses characterful décor with contemporary style, and with spacious rooms to relax in, it really is a wonderful place for a ski holiday!

Maximise your ski time - there is a bag store available from 0930 if you would like to ski on your arrival day, and we can store your bags and provide a shower & change area until 5pm on your departure day, giving you more time on the slopes.

Staying at Chalet Jean France will allow you the opportunity to genuinely ski to and from the door, enjoy après ski bars on the doorstep and it's just minutes away from the traffic-free resort centre, where there are shops, cafés and the brilliant Aquariaz water park. A ski school meeting point is just meters away.

You really are at the heart of everything with the chalet sitting between two Apres ski bars, one being the Folie Douce. During the evening the area around the chalet becomes calm and quiet apart from the jingling bells of the horse sleighs trotting past. The neighbouring bars close by 6.00pm daily, ensuring a relaxing evening in the chalet. Early booking is recommended to secure your dates of choice, as this chalet is in very high demand.

Chalet Jean-France has 6 good-sized ensuite bedrooms spread over two floors, each one with a shower, and two rooms have a bath to soak in too. All rooms have twin beds and all can be made up as doubles; please let us know your preference when booking.

There's a spacious open-plan kitchen-diner on the first floor plus a lounge area with a Smart TV with usb port (French channels only, use your own account or device and cable) and DVD player, an open fireplace and a balcony boasting lovely views of the slopes and stunning sunsets. The chalet has a ski room so ski and board storage is no issue and it has boot dryers too. There is a bag store available during the day if you would like to ski on your arrival and departure day. Chalet Jean France now has a sauna and shower area on the lower ground floor, a pace to relax ski legs and to shower and change after ski on departure day.

A snowcat resort taxi on arrival and departure in Avoriaz is included. This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 5 minute walk across snow from the Avoriaz Welcome Station (airport transfer drop off point and car park) to the chalet door, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).

Check in/Out:

On arrival day you may arrive at chalets anytime from 09:30 to change, leave your bags and go skiing. Your bedroom will be ready by 17:00 at the latest but normally earlier.

Getting To Your Chalet

Your mini-bus transfer from the airport will drop you at the Avoriaz Welcome Station.

Also included in your chalet holiday with us is a snowcat resort taxi, to get you to and from the chalet door. This is a fun ride in a piste basher style vehicle, saving a 10 minute walk across snow from the Avoriaz Welcome Station, or you can take a magical horse and sleigh resort taxi (payable locally).

Late Arrival Supplement - if you are scheduled to arrive at the chalet after 21:30 we will book a host to return to work to let you into the chalet, show you to your room, provide you with information to ensure your ski time is not delayed the next day and to provide you with a light supper. There is a small supplement for late arrivals.

On your departure day , bedroom checkout is 09:00 but we know that you may want to ski until the last minute, so we ensure that there is somewhere for you to leave your bags and change up until 17.00 Where possible a shower is made available for you to use too.

Please note that on guest change over days, between the hours of 09:30 and 17:00, both departing and arriving guests will be sharing the chalet public areas.

Transfers

Typically 1 hour 45 mins transfer from Geneva, including snowcat to chalet

Shared, return Geneva airport transfers are included in your chalet holiday:

  • Please book flights scheduled to land no later than 16:00
  • You will be scheduled onto a transfer within 2 hours of your scheduled flight landing time
• Return Monday or Thursday
  • Please book flights scheduled to depart after 11:30
  • You will be scheduled onto a transfer to check in at the airport around 2 hours before your flight departs

If the shared transfer times do not work for your flight times, private transfers are available at a supplement

Please advise us before travel of any ski or snowboard bags you are bringing with you, for us to book a transfer that can accommodate these oversize bags

On arrival you will be welcomed with tea and cake and before dinner on your first evening, there will be a welcome drink. Chalet Jean France is a catered chalet with our Classic chalet board; continental breakfast & delicious afternoon tea and cake are served daily, hot breakfast options such as bacon, beans & eggs, sausage, tomatoes and eggs or a pancake stack and porridge with sprinkles are served on 5 mornings in addition to the continental breakfast.

Baguette To Go : at breakfast you will be invited to make your own ham & cheese baguette, to take out if you wish.

Chalet evening meals: we all look forward to the homemade 3-course evening meal with carefully selected wine included during dinner service, which is served on 6 evenings . This is all provided by your friendly host who lives out.

Host Time Off : Please note that your host in this chalet has Wednesday all day off and Saturday morning off, this gives you an opportunity to dine out in the resort on Wednesday evening, where there are plenty of lovely local restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops. On your hosts mornings off, you can help yourself to a delicious continental breakfast, freshly baked croissants delivered to your door, ham & cheese lunch baguettes to go and afternoon tea and cake will be available for you to self serve. During your stay, your host will cater for special diet requirements at no extra supplement , just so long a it is booked no later than a few weeks before travel.

If you enjoy finer wine with your evening meal, would like the addition of a cheese board with port after your chalet dinner and on hosted mornings set yourself up for the day with a full English breakfast; sole occupancy private groups may add this VIP upgrade to their booking in this chalet for a supplement. Please request at time of booking your holiday.

For families with younger children, a children's menu can be pre booked before travel at no extra supplement. When booking the chalet for private sole use, an earlier children's dinner time (high tea) can be pre-booked for a supplement.

The kettle is always on at a chalet, for you to help yourself to a great selection of hot drinks and your chalet host will ensure you will not go hungry and have food for energy for great days skiing.
