A great week - fresh snow and below freezing. We found our room quite small for 2 but would like to praise Nancy our hostess and Roger said it was the best duck he'd ever had. Sophie was always bubbly and organized a good restaurant for chalet girl’s day off. Great value for money - shame the midday flights we... + more

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d'Huez is very accessible from Grenoble or Chambery airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain. It is partnered by the smaller mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde, all of which are connected by a free transport system. The slopes are mainly south facing and as a result the area, known as "...
Alpe d’Huez has had sun and snow galore since 1936, and with the culmination of around 20 Million Euros of improvements due to come to fruition for 2021, there is a huge ski area to be explored. With a whopping 52km of greens, this is an excellent place for beginners. The easiest skiing is above the village and Les Bergers. There are plenty of wide-open runs underneath the DMC gondola, many being ‘beginners only’ so you can learn without too much traffic. If you’re feeling confident, try some of the bl...
If you like live music, try the Underground in Vieil Alpe. It combines a pleasant atmosphere with bands playing most nights. Smithy’s has drinks promotions and healthy portions of Tex-Mex food to match. If you can’t bear to miss an important game whilst in France, O’Sharkey’s is the best spot to watch live sports. L’igloo is the place to go if you want to party late into the night. Alpe d’Huez has all of the usual culinary delights you’d expect in the mountains. To sample some traditional French food, ...

"Fantastic week in Petite Etoile"

This is a fantastic, cosy chalet with great views over the neighbouring chalet roofs from the balcony at the rear of the property. The bucket lift that takes you to the main piste area is less than 2 minutes walk from the front door and you can ski back to this point when the snow is good. Although the bucket lift is very slow (takes over 10 mins) as is the nearby chair lift option, I still rate the location of this chalet. Close to all the shops and bars, yet situated on a very quiet street. This chalet company know what they are doing when it comes to service and we had a great week thanks to the awesome chalet host and excellent rep.

We booked the chalet for a family holiday for 6 people. It is very nicely decorated. The rooms are well equipped. The shower rooms are lovely. As usual the rooms are small but adequate for a week's holiday. The boot room is a great feature. The food was excellent. The menu was very varied and more than adequate. The location of the chalet was ideal for us, being in the old town and convenient for good bars and restaurants. The distance to the nearest lift is about 100 metres and you can ski back to that point too. All in all a fabulous place for a ski holiday.

A great week - fresh snow and below freezing. We found our room quite small for 2 but would like to praise Nancy our hostess and Roger said it was the best duck he'd ever had. Sophie was always bubbly and organized a good restaurant for chalet girl’s day off. Great value for money - shame the midday flights were already fully booked.
