OK – my main feedback is that the chalet was a bit clinical and could have done with something to do like card games and board games. It didn’t help us to build a relationship with the other people in the chalet, and also when the weather was bad we had nothing to do. Otherwise, we had no problem whatsoever w... + more

Overview - chalet description - Chalet Johmarons description

This delightful semi-detached chalet has a large picture windows from the lounge looking down a slope to fabulous views of the piste. The chalet shares a covered terrace with a jacuzzi hot-tub with the Chalet Ysopes, where all the aches of a hard days skiing can be relaxed away whilst looking forward to that evenings dinner.

The interior of the chalet is modern and stylish, with attractive use of light pine panelling throughout, characterful beamed ceilings and plenty of small touches to enhance the charming overall ambience. One of the quirkier features is bathroom doors only 1.7m high, so our taller guests will need to duck! Over the summer the owner is upgrading many of the furnishings and fittings for the further comfort and enjoyment of our guests.

Assuming both the Chalet Johmarons and the Chalet Ysopes are empty at the time of booking, these two chalets can also be booked by one larger group of up to 21, and the dining-room would then be in the Ysopes (pronounced ‘Ee-sopp’, as in Aesops Fables!) and the living area in the Johmarons.

Our Chalet Hotels can also prepare a packed lunch for you on request, at a small local charge. For skiers keen to keep their Euro-spending to an absolute minimum, this is the ideal way to keep your costs down!

Afternoon Tea

The traditional 'welcome home' after a day on the slopes will be laid out for you in your chalet or Chalet Hotel, ready for your return, every day except on the staff's one day off per week. A good cup of tea or coffee is the perfect accompaniment to a delicious slice of freshly home-baked cake and keeps hungry skiers happy until dinner is ready. As an added benefit for guests in our Chalet Hotels, our chefs prepare a selection of cakes for afternoon tea.

Children's High Tea

In Chalets and Chalet Hotels with family guests, High Tea provides children under 13 years with a healthy menu, tailored more towards children's tastes and puréed food is available for infants on request. High Tea is at 5.30pm, and children do not join the main adult-only dinner.

Children's High Tea in Chalet Hotels

New for 2013/14 Season - Families staying in one of our Chalet Hotels may choose to eat separately (High Tea at 5:30pm) or all dine together at the later adult dinner time if children who have received a child discount pay the meal upgrade charge of £39 at the time of booking only

Dinner in Chalets

A tasty and innovative, freshly cooked dinner will be prepared for you six nights per week by your Chalet Host - or by an experienced and professional chef in our larger chalets - and served with a choice of wines. Our four-course adult-only chalet dinners start with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and completed by coffee with chocolates to round off your evening.

Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service, and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Culinary Choice Dinners in Chalet Hotels

A special feature of our Chalet Hotels is a more extensive culinary experience for our guests. With the greater kitchen facilities of a hotel, our professional chefs are able to offer choices of menu at dinner, generally including lighter as well as more hearty options, and always a vegetarian choice for each course. Guests will be asked to choose their evening meals at breakfast for that evening from a varied daily selection.

Our Chalet Hotel adult-only dinners offer 5 courses, starting with canapés and an apéritif, followed by an appetiser, main course and dessert, and a cheese selection to round off your meal in style. All this is then followed by coffee with chocolates to complete your evening's repast! Your choice of complimentary quality wines is unlimited during the meal service and freshly chilled water is also of course always available.

Vegetarian and Special Diets

Vegetarian options are always on our 'Culinary Choice' menu in our Chalet Hotels, and are available in our chalets if you advise us in advance. Other special diets can generally be catered for at a cost of £35 per person per week. Any dietary requirements must be advised to us at the time of booking in order for us to be fully prepared.

We update Chalet Johmarons's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Johmarons in Les Gets, France departs Sunday 8th January 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

This is as close to an alpine fairy tale as it gets. A beautiful resort tucked away between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets’ charm comes from rustic wooden chalets, friendly locals and the inevitably cosy atmosphere a smaller village is able to offer. Situated just an hour from Geneva Airport, it’s perfect for those who don’t want to waste a chunk of their holiday travelling, as most people who fly in the morning are able to make it onto the slopes by mid-afternoon. This is also one of the closest res...
Les Gets has a number of ski schools, making it an excellent place for children and beginners - most have bi-lingual instructors, and the resort’s popularity with families means instructors are well versed in teaching children to ski. A designated beginner park called ‘Mappy’s Area’ is close the Chavannes cable car, with gentle slopes, several magic carpets and rope tows. There are good blue runs near the centre of town, and further up towards Chavannes, for any older learners who want to enjoy some of the...
Whilst the resort isn’t primarily known for a huge après ski scene, a choice of over 100 shops, bars and restaurants means there’s definitely fun to be had after a long day on the slopes. There are several lively bars and most will stay open until about 2am. The Irish pub is great for its friendly atmosphere, home-brewed beers, live music and great tapas. The Black Bear is child friendly, with a pool table, and the Black Bush hosts a range of fancy dress nights. If 2am isn’t late enough for you, Igloo nightc...

Its a lovely chalet and ideally situated within 3 minutes’ walk to the nearest piste and village centre, this chalet is in a great location with easy access to all the resort has to offer. After a long day skiing you can enjoy the large outdoor Jacuzzi (check this before booking) and then wine and dine with a 4 course meal and free flowing wine at dinner. The chalet hosts offer spectacular food and have a wealth of knowledge to share about the best places to ski and the hot spots to go for après ski drinks etc. Like the resort itself, this property manages a nice balance between access to excitement, along with a bit of seclusion.
