Overview - hotel description - Hotel Parc Victoria description

The Hotel Parc Victoria is one of the most iconic hotels in Cortina and has been since 1892 when the original 'Villa Vittoria' was transformed into one of the resort's first hotels. This elegant property is located in the centre of Cortina and just a few steps away from the main pedestrianised street that runs through the town centre. Here you will find the elegant shops which many Italians travel miles to visit, even those who do not ski, due to designer labels and fashion icons who shop here.

The hotel is well placed to enjoy all that Cortina has to offer with the nearest lifts just 600m away. The local ski bus stops right outside the hotel so access to both the Faloria and Tofana lifts is easy.

With superb facilities such as the attractive and spacious bar/lounge with its roaring fireplace the hotel provides a cosy and pleasant ambience. Take time to admire the old photographs of the original hotel and Cortina which are displayed with pride throughout the hotel.

At the end of the day head for the small spa area, perfect for reviving those tired muscles. Once suitably refreshed you can make your way down to the restaurant with its antique wooden beams and wood-panelling which create intimate surroundings to enjoy your evening meal.

A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

Nicknamed the 'Queen of the Dolomites', Cortina d'Ampezzo gained its reputation as one of Europe's finest ski resorts after hosting the 1956 Winter Olympics. Well-heeled Italians and Hollywood stars like Audrey Hepburn flocked here in the '60s and '70s, and it remains a stylish resort to this day with elegant boutiques and chic cafes lining the cobbled pedestrian high street. You may recognise the area from films such as Cliffhanger and the chase scene in Bond film, For Your Eyes Only, where Roger Moore famou...
There are 3 ski areas directly accessible from Cortina d'Ampezzo itself: Cristallo, Tofana and Faloria. Faloria and Cristallo are on the eastern side of town, while Tofana is on the opposite side. You need to take the bus to get between them. There's plenty to challenge even expert skiers in this area alone, but if you start with the local pass, you can always upgrade to the Superski pass if you decide you want to head further afield. The Guargnè/Mietres section is a small area for learners and children to...
Everything starts up on the mountain where you’ll find some lovely huts for lunch. Rifugio does exceptionally good bombardinos, a local speciality drink. It’s usually made up of a mix of Advocaat and brandy. Have it served hot with whipped cream if you fancy being indulgent. Our favourite shop in town isn’t one of the fancy fur boutiques but actually the Pasticceria (bakery/patisserie) Alvera. You’ll find it on the edge of the square at the top of the pedestrian street. The mini tarts and cakes are to die...

"Very good food, very good Chalet Hotel"

Norman Mcrury, Aberdeen
5/ out of 5
The holiday was spot on. We went as a group of 15 and the Chalet Hotel was perfect for that. The layout was great, there was a nice set up in the lounge area with plenty of seating and everyone had their own space to sit together. There was a pool table and a piano which we made good use of (we had a musician with us) and then downstairs was the dining area. Some of our group said it was the best ski holiday they had ever had. The food was very good, again some of the best we’ve ever had on a ski holiday. Wasn’t impressed with the crème brûlée though! Everything else was spot on though. The staff were excellent too. The location was very good, the bus stop is just over the road from the hotel. The hotel also laid on a mini bus to take you to the slopes (there are two different ski areas and they are too far away to walk to). Taking the bus wasn’t ideal but Cortina is like that, the ski areas aren’t linked up. It’s a very nice village though. I didn’t use the wellness facilities. The only thing the hotel is lacking is a hot tub, on the top floor with views! That would be ideal.

"Excellent holiday"

Hotel Parc Victoria excellent, staff very helpful and really good service, excellent choice for breakfast and evening meal, afternoon tea available for those back early from skiing. Location of hotel excellent close to shops and bars. Rooms and hotel facilities good, plenty of places to chill out and relax after a hard day on the slopes, whether a big or small group, overall great place to stay, would choose this hotel again if in Cortina in the future.
