Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined 2014 menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner

Chalet Chateau is one of our larger CLUB chalets. Your chef will be offering canapés and a choice of menu on 6 evenings; a little more choice to pander the penchant of everyone in the party.

We update Chalet Chateau's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

This package holiday to Chalet Chateau in Alpe d'Huez, France departs Sunday 23rd April 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

With a transfer time of around 2 hours, Alpe d’Huez is very accessible from Grenoble airport. Established in 1936, it was the first resort in France to be installed with a fully operational ski lift. The resort lies in the Grandes Rousses Massif domain and it is partnered by the smaller mountain villages of Auris-en-Oisans, Villard Reculas, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and La Garde, all of which are connected by a free transport system. The slopes are mainly south facing and as a result the area, known as “L’ile ...
Alpe d’Huez has had sun and snow galore since 1936. And with a whopping 52km of greens, this is an excellent place for beginners. The easiest skiing is above the village and Les Bergers and there are plenty of wide open runs underneath the DMC gondola, many being ‘beginners only’ so you can learn without too much traffic. If you’re feeling confident, try some of the blue runs coming down from the main mountain and the signal sector back into Alpe d’Huez. There is a really impressive selection of runs for ...
If you like live music, try the Underground in Vieil Alpe, which combines a pleasant atmosphere with bands playing most nights. Smithys tavern is a proven success in the neighbouring resort of Les Deux Alpes and the Smithy’s in Alpe D’Huez has drinks promotions and healthy portions of Tex-Mex to match. If you can’t bear to miss an important game whilst in France then The Sports Bar is the best spot to watch live sports. L’igloo is the place to go if you want to party late into the night. Alpe d’huez has a...

"Chalet Experience"

Clare Tatlock
5/ out of 5
Every moment of the holiday was enjoyable. The staff were incredible as they had to wake up early to wake up the guests and still going for it in the evening. They never ate in front of us but I'm sure they had food before we got up and during the time we were away skiing. The chef always made wonderful food and it was always ready on time. The chalet itself is lovely and it is positioned in the best possible place (right next to the skiing (no buses)). The skiing was perfect and the weather was wonderful. Also the other guests made the holiday enjoyable. Overall it was the best I have ever experienced and it's way better than I could have ever imagined. Thank you so much to everyone but mostly the chalet staff and the people who made the chalet to enable easy skiing.
