Location - where is CLUB Altitude Lodge

A completely unique position overlooking the pistes, lifts and nursery slopes of Chavannes, 300m vertically above the village centre. For guests staying in CLUB Altitude Lodge we recommend the ski hire service from Vermont Sport, just a 2 minute walk from the chalet. Pre-booking is essential as the shop only carries a limited amount of stock.

Overview - chalet description - CLUB Altitude Lodge description

We're thrilled to announce Altitude Lodge is back in our collection for the 2020/21 season. Having previously offered the property as a hotel with bar and restaurant, this winter 12 to 22 lucky guests can enjoy exclusive use of this piste side CLUB Chalet each week. As a CLUB Chalet our chef and hosts will provide a canapé reception on 6 nights and CLUB dining with a more flexible menu plan and choice of dishes.

This is the ultimate skiing venue, at 1530 metres altitude, on the piste, in the main Les Gets ski area of Les Chavannes and next to all the lifts. Green, red and blue pistes weave back to the terrace through the woods. The unique location offers unbeatable ski in ski out access, easy links to ski into Morzine and the rest of the Portes du Soleil area and absolute serenity in the evening.

The accommodation spans three floors. On the ground floor are two of the 6 bedrooms, a sauna, ski room with boot warmers and access to the outdoor hot tub. The first floor has a spacious dining area, two lounges with open fire and flat screen TV, and access to the huge terrace and piste.

Upstairs are a further four bedrooms. The chalet has six comfortable bedrooms, each en suite with a balcony or terrace with the most breathtaking views. Five of the bedrooms have additional bunk beds which if occupied are charged at half the adult price. Rooms 1, 2 and 5 also boast private outdoor hot tubs! This really is the perfect property for family and friends to spend a week in the Alps accommodating from 12 to 22 guests.

CLUB Altitude Lodge is one of our shortlisted family chalets and families with infants and children are welcome in the chalet on all dates throughout the season. Our private childcare will be available to pre-book.

For guests staying in CLUB Altitude Lodge we recommend ski hire from Vermont Sport. The shop is 100m from the chalet, about 2 minutes away. Once you are settled and have sampled the afternoon tea that awaits you on arrival a member of the team will take you to the shop. At the end of the week your equipment will be collected from the boot room in CLUB Altitude Lodge, so no need to carry it back to the shop. We are confident you'll get the very best of service from the Vermont team.

This package holiday to CLUB Altitude Lodge in Les Gets, France departs Sunday 13th December 2020, for a 7 night stay on a "catered chalet" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

This is as close to an alpine fairy tale as it gets. A beautiful resort tucked away between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, Les Gets’ charm comes from rustic wooden chalets, friendly locals and the inevitably cosy atmosphere a smaller village is able to offer. Situated just an hour from Geneva Airport, it’s perfect for those who don’t want to waste a chunk of their holiday travelling, as most people who fly in the morning are able to make it onto the slopes by mid-afternoon. This is also one of the closest res...
Les Gets has a number of ski schools, making it an excellent place for children and beginners - most have bi-lingual instructors, and the resort’s popularity with families means instructors are well versed in teaching children to ski. A designated beginner park called ‘Mappy’s Area’ is close the Chavannes cable car, with gentle slopes, several magic carpets and rope tows. There are good blue runs near the centre of town, and further up towards Chavannes, for any older learners who want to enjoy some of the...
Whilst the resort isn’t primarily known for a huge après ski scene, a choice of over 100 shops, bars and restaurants means there’s definitely fun to be had after a long day on the slopes. There are several lively bars and most will stay open until about 2am. The Irish pub is great for its friendly atmosphere, home-brewed beers, live music and great tapas. The Black Bear is child friendly, with a pool table, and the Black Bush hosts a range of fancy dress nights. If 2am isn’t late enough for you, Igloo nightc...

"Lovely!"

A lovely chalet! It was very comfortable and the décor was nice. The room with the PlayStation was good and kept the kids entertained. We liked the food and the staff were really nice. You can ski in and ski out as long as you’ve got enough snow – it was touch and go before we arrived but luckily the conditions were ok. All round a good experience. Our only one negative is the way they dealt with dining in the evening – the way they condensed everyone so we had to sit together and have dinner with certain people all week. The only possible improvement would be to have separate tables so you’re not forced to sit with people you might not get on with.

"Amazing holiday and wedding proposal at Altitude Lodge"

Here are a few words about our time at the Altitude lodge back in Jan 2012. I wanted to book a boarding holiday somewhere nice where I could also propose to my then fiancée. A few friends had recommended Les Gets so I searched for some places online and Altitude lodge came up. The website and pictures looked great and also being able to choose your own room from the floor plan was very handy. I went with room 5 as it has a private hot tub which overlooks the slopes. The location of the lodge couldn't be better. Its bang in the middle of one of the slopes so you literally step out of the chalet and you're standing on a blue run. We were picked up from the airport by Kat who drove us back to the chalet and showed us around. Our room was spacious, cosy and the bed was lovely, not to mention the hot tub on the balcony which was hot all the time even when it was snowing like crazy! Kat was great the entire time we were there, even picking us up late at night after having a meal at La Grande Ourse on the other side of the vally, which she recommended to us (first time I had Kangaroo for dinner!) The chalet staff always went our of there way to look after us or provide anything we needed, and they kept the chalet and hotel looking immaculate at all times. I must make a special mention about Melissa, Bianca and Tom who were fantastic to us our entire stay and really made our time there that much more enjoyable. I proposed to my wife in our balcony hot tub on a bluebird day overlooking the mountains. Matt the bar manager provided me with some champagne on the house to top it off (and of course she said yes :-) The food at the lodge was simply amazing. I cant remember the chefs name but he did a fantastic job every night. Even the day time food from the bar was great (I recommend the altitude burger!) and the afternoon cakes were brilliant to. My ski trousers were definitely a bit tighter after eating here for a week :D I would also like to mention Jonathan who was a great ski host and showed us some nice runs around Les Gets. So to sum it up... chalet; awesome location; awesome staff; awesome food; awesome Definitely recommended and we are looking to book room 5 again sometime in the near future! Tom and Diane.

My wife and I stayed with our 11 and 9 year old children. We had two rooms on the top floor. The rooms were spacious, airy and very comfortable. The staff were professional helpful and friendly. The chalet is half way up the mountain so once the lifts close you are more or less in for the night which was fine for us as we have younger children. Whilst the chalet is very modern and has a new build feel about it , because it is not large it is still intimate. The dining area operates as a mountain restaurant during the day with a private lounge for chalet guests, and because of this the kitchen has a dedicated professional team. They offer a choice for evening meals and we found them flexible with additional requests. The food was excellent. The boot room is modern and warm and gives direct access to the piste with a 10 second easy as pie glide to the button lift. Overall a top venue.

We had a wonderful week at Altitude Lodge. The staff were really lovely, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and well designed, and our hot tub was a real luxury and well looked after. (Very minor comment - We would have like another outside chair or two, maybe even a lounger.) The food was fantastic all through the day from breakfast to tea and dinner, especially delicious cakes at tea and 3 course dinners to die for. I cannot fault the service and super atmosphere at the Lodge. You have a fabulous team there and we have never had such a wonderful skiing holiday. We would definitely come back if we have the chance, We just wish we didn't have to leave.
