Kandersteg ski apartment holidays

If you’re planning to self-cater in Kandersteg, you can choose between cosy, self-contained houses and central apartments. Marietta is a gorgeous two storey building surrounded by trees, while the Schweizerhof is part of a pretty apartment block only 300m from the rail station.

For cooking your own meals, there’s a Coop supermarket on Bahnhofstrasse (round the corner from the train station) for picking up provisions, while Bäckerei-Konditorei Künzi and Bäckerei-Tea Room Marmotte sell fresh produce.

In the restaurant department, head to one of the nearby hotels like the Bernerhof, where you can dine in smart surroundings (the meringue desserts here are amazing). For something special, book the Kota hut and share a fondue with friends and family. Cafe Schweizerhof is popular for its good value suppers, featuring big plates of popular European dishes.
