Top places to visit in St. Vincent & the Grenadines in February

In the relatively cooler and drier month of February, we recommend taking the climb up St. Vincent's active volcano, La Soufrière. At 1,234m, the volcano is one of the Caribbean’s most impressive hikes; comprised of valleys, gorges, and even the inside of the volcanic crater - offering a wealth of biodiversity.

Volcanic soil is extremely fertile and so the surrounding land is awash with lush, canopied jungles and impressive plantations growing bananas, coconuts and mangoes. There are two routes which you can choose from, the shorter Rabbaca trail (Windwards side) and the longer, but the slightly gentler ascent of the Richmond trail (Leeward side). Guides are mandatory; however, with knowledge and encouragement when you need it, we would suggest taking one.

Despite February falling in the dry season, rain is still likely, and so we would suggest light waterproof and sturdy hiking boots (water and snacks are also imperative).
