Grand Hotel Victoria is Lake Como’s newest five-star addition - it has been completely renovated and we absolutely love the design. It’s modern with some beautiful traditional touches. The lobby has high, frescoed ceilings with chandeliers and comfy sofas where you can relax with a glass of champagne. The rooms are ultra-modern with large, comfy beds and wooden floors. They come with park views as standard and you can upgrade to a lake view room. Balconies are available on request.

The hotel is a good base for exploring Lake Como. It’s close to the centre of Menaggio and there’s plenty of ferries from here that go all over the lake. You might find it hard to leave though. We loved spending time in the gardens, which have views over the lake to Varenna and Bellagio. There’s a state-of-the-art spa that’s 1,500 square metres. It’s got an indoor pool, sauna, steam rooms and lots of treatments to choose from (payable locally). The outdoor pool is stunning with a wooden decked are and sun loungers with mattresses. It’s heated so you can use it all season and the Griso Pool Bar has some great drinks to try. In the evenings you can dine in style at the 1827 Restaurant where gourmet Italian cuisine is on the menu. We recommend a nightcap at the Manzoni Bar afterwards where the resident mixologist would be happy to serve up a delicious cocktail or two.

Deluxe Rooms are about 25 - 45m² and sleep up to four people. They have courtyard views and a king or twin beds. Each room is decorated individually in an elegant, modern style. Prestige Rooms are about 23 - 27m² and sleep two people. They have a king size or twin beds and views over the park and gardens.

The hotel itself is on a quiet and flat road. It offers good access to the town centre and main piazza. However to reach the ferry port you need to walk along a fairly busy main road and in places the pavement gets too narrow for a wheelchair to use.

Every day you can enjoy a buffet breakfast with a choice of hot and cold options. If you choose to upgrade to half board, you'll have three-course dinners in the restaurant, with choices. The half board option is only available for children aged 11+. Younger children can pick from the a la carte menu, which is payable locally. Early meals for children can also be arranged.
