Considering what you pay for and what you get it’s fantastic!

The Hotel La Vanoise is really very good and we thoroughly enjoyed staying here, we’d highly recommend it and would certainly go again. The access to the slopes is really good – it’s literally ski in / ski out (for any level) which is why we chose it. Our ski school was literally yards away and we’d be down onto the piste at the beginning of the day and dropped back outside the hotel at the end of the day. I can’t remember the name of the ski school but it wasn’t ESF – they met outside a different hotel whereas ours met outside a coffee shop near the hotel.
The food was really good and freshly cooked – not dead posh but nice, local produce. They have a nice little bar with a mix of French and Brits which had a nice atmosphere. The people who run the hotel were all really lovely.
Our room smelled of smoke but we didn’t actually notice it - the owner came in and pointed it out, offering us another room but we decided to stay so they had it cleaned. We really liked the room as it overlooked the cafes and the pistes. The location wasn’t noisy considering how central it was, even though there were bars and cafes nearby everything stopped early.
