Lovely hotel, but double check whether the gala dinner is included

We had a lovely week and all thought the hotel was very good. We liked our bedrooms and enjoyed using the pool and spa facilities every evening. My friend who doesn’t ski went to the gym every morning, where they had a pilates coach -she said that it was one of the best hotels she’d been to as a non-skier. The staff were lovely and service was very good – they were very helpful with running us to the slopes and my friend was able to get to the mountain restaurants to meet us at lunchtime.
They had a menu for the evening meal that they’d give you in the morning to choose from, but they produced the same menu every day which got a little repetitive. Our main problem was on New Year’s Eve when the hotel staff tried to tell us we had to pay something extortionate (70-80 euros each) for dinner – we go skiing every New Year (can’t remember the last time we didn’t) and the gala dinner is always included. We didn’t have any reps in resort to talk to but my friend who is a business woman sorted it out and eventually they decided to cook us something different. I would recommend double checking if you book at New Year as with the notice they gave us, it would have been impossible to find a table to book in resort.
