Weird chalet but incredible location

Reviewed 8 May 2015

No complaints, you get what you pay for with food and accommodation but you wouldn’t find anywhere in Val d’Isere with a better location. The guy I spoke to at SNO had been the year before and knew exactly where the chalet was, and that’s the reason we chose it – the position really was pefect.
It’s just a strange ‘chalet’… I may have missed some of the bumpf about the chalet and it was a bit of a surprise when we arrived to find ourselves effectively sharing a 2 bed apartment with another couple we didn’t know…
Basically you’ve got a big 3 story chalet of which only the bottom layer had been hired out – and the bottom layer was split between a 2 bed apartment and a 3 bed apartment. The kitchen was slightly bigger in the 3 bed apartment (shared by 6 family members) so we had to go out of ours and cross over to the other apartment for meals, which felt a little like we were intruding on their space. Our kitchen was left completely dormant and the telly didn’t work either, so it was all a bit weird.
It turned out to be a fantastic week as we got on really well with everyone else staying there, but that side of things could have been different. The food was great, the hosts were great. I'd stay again just for the location.

Loved by small groups and large or sharing families

Reviewed 22 Jan 2014

Sleeping up to 10 guests but split across two floors with separate living areas, and accessible via individual, external entrances; this is a very popular choice for full occupancy and individuals, as privacy is a great feature here. We love that two families can stay with sole-occupancy and yet still have a floor each to themselves, but its perfect for a small group of friends too. What makes this cosy chalet even more appealing is the fact that it is ski-in ski-out, connected to the Solaise nursery run. It's also placed no further than a hop-skip-and jump from the entertaining après ski scene of Val d’Isere centre and this is possibly the key to it's success, making early booking of paramount importance.
