Sat above 1200metres, with slopes between 1224m and 2755m and access to the high altitude off-piste Vallee Blanche, Courmayeur usually has some pretty good snow later on in the season.
With the main ski area balancing over two sides of a ridge, you can make your way to the piste from the village cables cars and enjoy the sunny Checrouit side before having a family friendly alpine lunch at Bar du Soleil; which is great for pizza and a terrace to enjoy the sunshine. In case the snow does become a little slushy by this point, you’ll find a great array of après ski activities (if basking in the Italian sunshine doesn’t do the trick). The indoor sports centre is a good place to start, with ice skating, climbing and football keeping up the high octane energy. For a relaxed approach, make the short journey to the Pre Saint Didier spa to relieve any tension and leave you rejuvenated for another day on the snow.
Courmayeur has great proximity to other resorts in and around the Aosta Valley and if you don’t mind jumping on a bus, a day trip to Chamonix can provide a change of pace – the Aosta ski area and Cham are all covered in your ski pass.
