In good old fashioned ski resort tradition, the instructors of the Scuola Sci Champoluc take part in a torchlight descent on the Antagnod slopes, which is a real sight for the eyes. A live music event usually takes place in the church square too, so there’s no excuse not to go out and party. End the night in the numerous hotel bars and smaller pubs; we like Hotel California’s saloon bar for live music and you can always party it up in Lo Bistro’s disco. If you haven’t spent all night on the vino and the weather man has predicted a clear day, you can always get up early to watch the sun rise over the Italian, French and Swiss alps – the views of the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc are seriously amazing.

Exploring Monterosa’s 180km ski area should keep you more than occupied for the rest of the week. With 26 blue runs, 51 reds and 10 black runs across the whole area, your Christmas dinner the previous week will be burned off in no time.
