While the altitudes aren’t particularly high (lifts take you up to 2255m), the ski season here usually runs until April meaning lifts and slopes are more than likely to be open for an Easter ski break. The earlier Easter falls the better – and if there’s been a good snowfall leading up to your stay, you’re in for a treat!
The great thing about Chamrousse is that even if the weather isn’t quite up to scratch, there’s still plenty to do. Get up early to ski the best conditions before grabbing a deck chair and a drink or a long, sunny lunch on the slopes with amazing views from 1840m at south-facing Le Malamute. If things start to get slushy, have a go at ice driving, keep your legs working at the ice rink in 1650 or opt for something at a slower place in the Balcons de Recoin wellness centre or Allocine cinema.
