Levi is one of Europe’s best destinations for snow sure skiing at half-term, with some great conditioned runs that are perfect for learning on or kicking up some serious powder. If you’re bringing the little ones, Kids’ Land at the front pistes is a lovely area with a wide slope and plenty of space to find your ski legs. The area’s open to adults and even has huts where you can rustle up some sausages on the fire and have warm berry juice on tap.

In the evening, head to the Levitunturi spa to unwind in the saunas and Jacuzzis, or swim as a family in its 17 pools. Husky safaris and reindeer rides are of course very popular and a sure-fire way to absorb some traditional Lappish culture – don’t forget you can also pop in to visit Santa at his home! Sampling Sami cuisine at Kammi or tucking into Lapland’s tastiest pancakes at Pannukakkutalo are sure to guarantee some happy stomachs, meanwhile the bowling alley is also worth visiting during your stay.

February is Levi’s coldest month, so be sure to pack plenty of layers! You can hire specially-insulated ski suits (often we can include this in your package) and there are campfires dotted around the mountain to thaw yourself by. Thankfully the dry air makes things at least feel a little warmer and contributes to some excellent snowfall. The southern slopes are your best bet for catching sunshine while runs between the pines are a blessing in any bad visibility.
