Going by previous years, New Year’s week in Solden will be filled with plenty of fireworks and even more après-ski.
With regards to skiing, the conditions are usually fantastic. Two thirds of routes have snow-making facilities and Solden’s high elevation (with 3 peaks above 3000m) should allow for a great time on the piste. There are plenty of ski routes available for all abilities– beginners can learn the basics on the Innerwald runs while more advanced skiers can test themselves on the routes leading back into the village – we like the red 19.
The clubs and bars in the village usually have special New Year parties - find out what’s planned at Fire & Ice this year. Many of the restaurants like Grauer Bar also provide special menus and most of our hotels and chalets do too – check out the individual accommodation pages for more info.
A rather interesting alternative in Solden is to celebrate in a hut - expect live music, lots of food and usually a few fireworks as you see in the New Year. The usual activities and events should still be on over the week too, including the brilliant Wednesday night-time ski show.
Our best holiday packages include flights and transfers for maximum convenience but other options are available too. If you’d prefer to drive, check out our self-drive packages - we also have some brilliant accommodation-only deals if you want to arrange travel independently.
