Make your way to Seefeld for quite possibly the best snow conditions of the year during February Half Term. Snow records show that depths are historically at their best around this time, meaning you’ll have a good chance of finding some lovely powder upon arrival.

The Ferienhotel Kaltschmid is an excellent hotel for families being just 150m from the nursery slopes so you won’t have to carry equipment far at all. We love the Aktiv and Spa Resort Alpenpark, which is just 300m from the village centre and another favourite is the Aktivhotel Veronika, a stylish wooden building just a 3 minute walk from the resort centre.

Ski schools are available to deliver top-notch lessons and fun for little munchkins. Children as well as adults learn in group or private lessons with English-speaking instructors down the gentle Geigenbühel and Birkenlifte runs on the outskirts of the village. Make sure you book lessons well in advance – especially morning lessons – as this is one of the busiest weeks. Most of the slopes above the resort are a variety of wide gentle blues which are ideal for cautious beginners and intermediates. There are some slightly steeper runs to be found down from the Seefelder Joch peak at 2064m altitude. Besides downhill skiing this is one of the best resorts in the world for cross-country skiing with a huge 279km of tracks in the area – it’s a great full-body exercise and you get to see a lot of the surrounding nature. Alternatively, the modern Olympia Sports Centre features swimming pools, a two story sauna and wellness facilities to pamper guests for the day, as well as a 140-metre long water slide which kids will love.
