Montafon Christmas holidays
Montafon’s traditional alpine villages really come alive during the festive season. Most years, between November and January, the Winter Magic event transforms the resort into a winter wonderland with concerts, crib exhibitions and enchanting Christmas markets. With an array of unique decorations, warming refreshments and gorgeous culinary treats, wandering these markets is like stepping into a fairy-tale.
Hotels will usually put on festive menus around this time (some even host visits from Father Christmas which is magic if you have children). Sleigh rides are also offered throughout the valley – a perfect winter’s trip for romantics and families alike – whilst the ice rink at the Aktivpark is another festive thing to do.
The high ski areas of the Hochjoch in particular usually experience plenty of snowfall over Christmas, though with snow cannons on Silvretta Montafon’s lower pistes, technology can always take over if Mother Nature is too busy Christmas shopping!
