February half term is a great time to visit Kirchberg as this is generally when the snow is in peak condition. While most people head to Kirchberg’s better-known next door neighbour Kitzbühel at this time of year, this can be a super option to keep the costs down while still hitting all the same slopes.
Anyone needing lessons has a choice of ski schools (Hexenwald do great kids courses)(.) book everyone into a group according to their age and ability or opt for a private family lesson if you’d prefer to learn together. The Gaisberg mountain, which is very close to the village, has some wide nursery slopes that are perfect for practicing on. To save those half term holiday costs, see if the practice lifts are still free to use, as beginners can hold back on buying a ski pass for a couple of days. Families will love this area - it’s open in the evenings for night skiing and sledding and is also home to an ice climbing park and a hugely entertaining toboggan run.
If you need a break from the great outdoors, Kirchberg’s Swimming and Leisure centre is 5 minutes’ away from the village centre and has a swimming pool with slides, table tennis and a kid’s play area.
