Soldeu & El Tarter Easter holidays

If you’re interested in a quiet resort but some of the best Easter skiing in Andorra, Soldeu and El Tarter are a safe bet. They don’t have the same party-resort reputation as nearby Pas de la Casa, but they do share its ski area – the Grandvalira – home to the highest slopes in the country.

While it’s not in the same league as spring skiing on the French and Swiss glaciers, there’s usually ample snow to be found if you get up early and ski high. On the Soldeu and El Tarter side, Tossal de la Llosada reaches 2560m, where blue runs like Teixo and Oreneta should have some of the best snow cover. The Enradort and Colibri reds from 2447m Collada d’Enradort are often in top shape too.

If Andorra’s famous sunshine takes its toll on your snow conditions, hang up the skis for a drink or three at Iceberg, where the terrace has fabulous views over the Rhodolpi mountains. Regular bus services also run to the country’s capital, Andorra La Vella for a spot of duty free shopping, while helicopter rides and paragliding are awesome ways to see this part of the world if you want to push the boat out. Alternatively, check into one of the local spas for some R&R that’s likely to cost a lot less than you’d pay at home.
