On an annual basis, Ellmau's average frozen precipitation is 300cm.
This natural weather-created snowfall is helped along with 68 snow guns or "cannons" on 35km of piste - that's over 70% of the total length of Ellmau trails.
Off-piste snowboarding and sking is allowed and of course this has the secondary effect of reducing the wear and tear on snow condition on the pisted runs.
