Leave your kids with us and we’ve got all sorts to keep them occupied, including an action ski week for youngsters from the age of 6 to 16, a powder snow and ski touring programme (upon request), carving introductory lessons, snowboard school, or day and week-long lessons for starter skiers, the more advanced, and pros. You can choose from private lessons or groups sessions, and we guarantee small groups between 4 to max. 8 people.

Take some time for yourself and let the children play in the Arosa Junior Club day-care centre, a special ski kindergarten with magic carpets and figures for kids to really have fun in the snow. The SSSA’s day nursery will look after children from two years, and you can choose between half-day and full-day care. Enthusiastic to engage young natural talent, they have a huge range of classes for kids, starting with trial courses for the truly inexperienced, including those under 4 years old. Children will make great progress learning together in fun classes tailored specially for young skiers, and groups are kept small with four to eight participants.

Children are given a high priority at Arosa, which scores initially anyway for its traffic calming measures and wide range of facilities beyond winter sports. There are no village daycare facilities but the individual hotels do operate nurseries and kindergartens, some of which are open to the public. The hotel Eden is one choice, accepting children aged 1 year and over between 10am and 7pm daily. Guests of the four star Waldhotel National have free daycare for children aged from 2 to 12 years old between 10am and 10pm daily, Sunday to Friday and the Sporthotel Valsana, another four star, offers free evening childcare on weekdays from 5 to 9pm. The five star Grand Hotel Tschuggen has a kindergarten for kids three and up on Mondays to Fridays from 9am to 6pm, again free to guests. All these hotels have their own swimming pools. Hotels and restaurants have a local 'lollipop' scheme, offering packages for young families. These include free lodging for children aged under 7 sharing a parent's room and discounts of up to 80% for children aged up to 12, and then half price to age 16. The tourist office organise family events and there's a snow playground for kids. Children aged three and up can join the Ski Kindergarten run by the ski school, it operates for two hours mornings and two hours more in the afternoons, with lunch and lunchtime supervision available for those six and older. Children enrolled in ski school may use the free baby lift. Children aged under 6 are free on the lifts whilst those up to age 16 receive a generous fifty per-cent discount.
