Location - where is The Manoir

The Manoir is located in the very centre of town, just 200m from the piste. Ski hire is provided by Doorstep Skis who offer an in chalet fit service.

Overview - chalet description - The Manoir description

The Manoir is very special to Andy Sturt, here's why it means so much; "I first walked past this building in 1985, skis on shoulder, another day at the office. I've walked past a thousand times since and never once not stopped to admire the most beautiful building in Morzine. Everyone stops to look. I was excited when it came up for sale last year, even more so when a good friend bought it."

The Manoir was built in 1790 and home to the local Notary for two centuries. Metre thick walls of local stone and horsehair, priceless mosaic floors, flagstone halls, towering ceilings, huge rooms from when space had no premium and timber and plaster detailing from when labour was cheap.

Last year the chalet was stripped back and re-clad, retaining all its precious elements whilst layering in a sympathetic veneer of modern day essentials; walk-in showers, roll top baths, flat screen TVs and wifi at your pillow. Undoubtedly destined for the pages of ‘House & Garden', The Manoir is the most eye-catching property that we operate across the Alps.

In essence The Manoir is just five bedrooms (three with extra beds in a kids' corner) to sleep up to 15 in the very centre of Morzine and two hundred yards from the piste. There are two lounges, one formal, one with TV, a magnificent dining room, a few fireplaces and a hot tub with a view to die for. In reality, never has the poverty of simple words been so ruthlessly exposed.

Our Executive Chef is passionate about food and hugely sensitive to the appetite of a hungry skier whilst considering a balanced diet. The new and refined menus are heavy enough to reward mountain exertion yet light and simple enough to leave you grinning not groaning.

All our catered ski holidays include;

  • Continental breakfast with a cooked option on 6 mornings
  • Afternoon tea will be left in the chalet for you to help yourself to freshly made cake or biscuits, bread & jams, selection of teas, coffee and hot chocolate
  • Canapés on the first and last evening
  • 3 course evening meal (6 nights) followed by cheese board and coffee
  • A choice of red and white wine is served throughout dinner
We update The Manoir's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

While the charming alpine atmosphere will make you feel like you've stepped into a traditional winter wonderland, you'll find that Morzine is a contemporary resort with all mod-cons. The huge range of shops, restaurants, pubs, clubs and off-slope activities pretty much have everything for everyone and contribute to the friendly, buzzing village life. There's more to do on and off the slope than you can shake a ski pole at, including loads of activities for non-skiers, and après ski is lively and varied. Highl...

With excellent ski schools and conveniently located nursery slopes, Morzine is popular for novices. You'll find lots of gentle greens and easy blues for snowploughing including Gernes and Proclo. Beginner boarders are in expert hands too: Mint Snowboarding is a top school specialising in snowb...
Because it's a great resort for those with children in tow, the high quality of après ski in Morzine is often overlooked. You'll find a lively, friendly atmosphere after hours with a good range of venues to suit everyone (and with fantastic childcare services on offer, even parents can sample the nightlife). In terms of places to drink in Morzine, Le Robinson is a popular vintage bar offering a relaxed atmosphere. Crowds tend to gather at the foot of the slopes to party in Le Tremplin while local beers and cock...
