The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise was built on the shores of the lake in 1890. It's a luxury hotel with lots of history and charm and the views are simply breathtaking. Much of the hotel overlooks the lake, so whether you're tucking into the restaurant's excellent cuisine, enjoying a cocktail in the lounge or relaxing in your lake view bedroom, you can't help but be impressed. On most days in the winter, you can skate on the lake or if even take a sleigh ride around it. And if you can force yourself to leave, the Lake Louise ski area is just a few minutes away via hotel shuttle bus.
