Sport Hotel Soldeu Summary

Meal Basis: Half Board
The Sport Hotel in Soldeu boasts a proud history, as it was the very first 4-star hotel to be built in the resort, way back in 1987. Fast forward 30 years and as a result of regular investments and annual improvements, it’s still to this very day a thriving and popular place to stay for a ski break in Andorra.
It is situated just opposite the main gondola and a few minutes’ walk from the centre of the village and offers an excellent range of facilities. This is a large hotel with 165 bedrooms and attracts customers from all over the world, so there’s an international vibe but the building itself is distinctly Spanish in style with a rustic wooden Alpine interior, traditionally furnished with some more modern touches. Service is professional and friendly.
There are a wide variety of room types on offer to suit your party size, including standard twin or double rooms (some with a view at a supplement), triple and quad rooms. All are spacious and comfortably furnished, with an ensuite bathroom with WC, satellite TV, telephone and hairdryer.
Your ski holiday at the Sport Hotel will be booked on a half board basis. Breakfast is an extensive hot and cold buffet, while dinner is also a buffet (3 courses) with themed menus, vegetarian options and show cooking. If you are staying at the hotel on Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, special gala meals are included in the price of your holiday and at New Year drinks, wine and champagne are also thrown in during the meal, cheers!
The Sport Hotel has a gym with fitness equipment and various machines to keep you in trim, should the skiing or boarding not suffice. There’s ski storage and free Wi-Fi available in the main public areas, while ski hire can be reserved from the hotel’s own shop, Calbo Sports. There are two bars and a large lounge area for relaxing.
If you’re staying at the Sport Hotel you’ll benefit from special rates to access the incredible Sport Wellness Mountain Spa in the 5* Hermitage Hotel & Spa, just across the road and belonging to the Sport Hotels Group. This beautiful spa is 5000m2, built over 5 floors and without doubt one of the finest in Andorra and Europe, boasting a range of swimming pools, Jacuzzis, saunas, steam bath and showers. Massage and beauty treatments can be booked locally at a supplement. The spa is not suitable for children under 13; swim wear and flip flops must be worn. 3 hours entrance to the spa is €49 per person and includes a drink.

Together with Pas de la Casa, Soldeu and El Tarter make up the Grandvalira which is the largest, highest and most popular ski area in Andorra. Soldeu is the larger and livelier of the two villages, with El Tarter retaining a more traditional feel. Although just around the corner from Pas de la Casa, there is a much more relaxed and family friendly vibe in Soldeu and El Tarter, and they have successfully distanced the villages from the cheap and cheerful heavy partying reputation that Andorra built up in the nine...
The Grandvalira ski area is the largest in the Pyrenees, and recent expansions and infrastructural improvements have enhanced it sufficiently so that it is rightly considered a viable alternative to skiing in the Alps, especially compared to the smaller resorts. With over 200km of piste, three snow parks, a boarder cross course and designated freeriding areas there’s fun to be had regardless of how you like to spend your day on the mountains. 60% of the ski area is covered by artificial snowmaking facilities, s...
Whilst the nightlife in this neck of the woods is overshadowed by nearby Pas de La Casa, there’s still enough variety for a one week ski holiday. And if this doesn’t prove to be the case, then Pas is just a short bus ride away… With a good range of tapas and assorted pub grub, as well as the usual suspects drinks wise, the Villager is the first port of call after big a day on the mountain. Fat Albert’s (Fatty’s to the locals) serves a range of local specialities and European staples. The nightclub upst...
