Overview: apartment description: Résidence Ynycio, Tignes Val Claret description

You’ll be staying piste-side in the Val Claret part of Tignes, so you can click straight into your skis and head off to explore the Tignes-Val d’Isère ski area. Or, for first-timers, the ski school and nursery slopes are just a few steps away.

Inside the residence itself, you’ve got a choice of apartments for up to six people, with separate living rooms and bedrooms so everyone’s got space to spread out. There’s a sleek white and black colour scheme throughout, with bold patterns on the curtains and rugs to add a stylish twist to the look. Fully kitted kitchenettes, with proper ovens and dishwashers, make mealtimes a breeze, and some apartments even have private saunas – après bliss here we come.

The highlights don’t end there. Upgrade to bed and breakfast to make mornings super simple, and in the evenings you can eat à la carte in the Bazurto restaurant to fill up on Latino flavours, from fajitas to tacos. It doubles up as a bar too, so if you’re not in the mood for food, there’s a menu of South American cocktails to tempt you instead. And for some off-slope R&R, swing by the wellness area for a swim or spell in the sauna.

Espace Killy ski area Fantastic après ski High altitude skiing

Tignes is somewhere you can ski longer, higher and further than most other resorts in the Alps. Owing its snow-reliability to the Grande Motte glacier, the local ski area is joined with Val d’Isere’s to form the mammoth Espace Killy - intermediates will have a whale of a time here. Choose between 5 different villages, whether your priority is convenience, cosiness or cheap accommodation. Tignes also has one of the most famous New Year parties in the Alps.

Tignes ski resort (pronounce it 'Teens') is one half of the stunning Espace Killy, one of the biggest linked ski areas in France. Because of its high-altitude terrain and access to the Grande Motte glacier, the resort is open both earlier and later in the season than many others and often the lifts are running for short periods of summer skiing. Predominantly purpose built, the resort itself is divided into 5 villages, each different in its own way but all well linked by lifts and bus services. The main area...
With varied pistes at a high altitude, the ski area has impressive powdered terrain for skiers and boarders alike. Beginners can practice on the nursery slopes at Le Lac and Le Lavachet, where you'll find gentle, quiet runs that are accessible via free beginners' lifts. Le Bollin at Val Claret is another conveniently situated green and Grattalu is a lovely wide blue for those wanting to build confidence. Tignes is incredible if you ski at an intermediate level, with miles of powdery blue and red runs includi...
While it's said that those who appreciate Tignes do so for the serious skiing over the après ski, this doesn't do justice to the fact that Tignes' 60+ bars/pubs and 4 night clubs provide some of the best nightlife in the Alps. All villages have their fair share of places to eat and drink, and with a shuttle bus service running 24 hours, you can enjoy your evening without worrying about the journey back. Jam bar is small but with a great atmosphere and Loop bar pretty much offers it all: with live sport, world c...
