The Residence Andorra El Tarter is just the ticket if you’re after a no-frills stay where you can self-cater on your ski trip. It’s eight minutes’ walk to the gondola up to the Grandvalira ski area. And there’s a locker in the apartment to stash your gear – or you can also rent one by the lift if you want to make things even simpler.

The apartments themselves are in two buildings (one a 4-minute stroll from the other) and each one has all the essentials you need for the week. The compact kitchenette has you covered for cooking simple meals, from breakfast fuel-ups to relaxed post-ski dinners. And if you need to stock up on food, there's a supermarket about seven minutes’ walk away.

For nights when you don't feel like cooking, there are several bars and restaurants on the street outside to tempt you – just walk a few minutes and you’re there. Or you could take the 5-minute bus ride to Soldeu for even more choice.
