It’s all on your doorstep at the Résidence Akoya – it's in the centre of Valmorel village, so you can wander out to browse the shops and grab a coffee whenever you fancy. And when it's time to hit the slopes, the brand new Planchamp gondola is right outside, ready to whisk you up the mountain in minutes.

Back at base, there's a swish spa to help you unwind after a day on the pistes. You can take a dip in the indoor pool and soak in the hot tub, sauna or steam room – followed by invigorating plunge in the cold-water Nordic Bath. There's also a gym if you want to keep active, plus a paddling pool for little ones.

Inside, the look is all about natural mountain style – think wood, stone and copper touches that give the place a cosy yet modern feel. And if you're after some evening vibes, head to M'Bar where there's live music once a week and a snug fireplace corner, with crackling wood burner.

All apartments are non-smoking and have a kitchenette with oven, hobs, fridge-freezer, separate wine fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, coffee machine, dishwasher, as well as a TV, safe, hairdryer and free WiFi. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay (except kitchenette) are included. Beds made on arrival.
