Overview: apartment description: Plagne Lauze Apartments, Plagne 1800 description

NB: while the Supplier rating is 2.5 Star, the Official rating is 3 Star.

Located in the attractive village of Plagne 1800 and spread across seven apartment blocks, the Plagne Lauze Apartments make an ideal base for a winter break. Keen skiers get easy access to the ski lifts and superb links to the whole ski area make for a piste, powder and exploration-filled days, each one different to the last.

The main building is the centre for all the amenities available on site, including the squash court, sauna, games room and bar. There's also a supermarket and pizzeria in the building, as well as an outdoor heated pool which is free to use for all hotel customers.

Families: Plagne Lauze Apartments, Plagne 1800 for children

Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club is based in the building next door to the Chalet Les Cimes Blances , a 2-minute walk from the Plagne Lauze Apartments.

Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months - 4 years) is run by our UK-qualified childcare staff and held in a dedicated room equipped with games and toys. Outdoor play included (weather and parental consent permitting).

What's included:

  • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
  • 2-course hot lunch
  • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
  • A daily routine and activities report for your child
Activities vary daily. We'll find time for stories, singing, arts and crafts including painting and collage making, plus messy play in the sand tray and free play with age-relevant toys set out for the children to choose what they want to do.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe snowy walks, a gondola ride or snow painting. And if your child is used to a sleep, we'll factor that in too.

Beanie Bear Club (4-8 years) provides plenty of fun-filled days as our childcare staff offer a combination of care and skiing, which includes 6 x AM ski lessons, pick-up and drop-off from ski lessons, lunch and afternoon care by staff in the dedicated Beanie Bear Club room.

What’s included:
  • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
  • 6 x AM ski lessons, ski school drop-offs and pick-ups*
  • Child skis, boots and helmet hire
  • 2-course hot lunch
  • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
* Lift passes aren't included as each child's needs are different. If and when your child feels confident enough to use the lifts, you'll need to buy a lift pass locally.

Activities vary daily – to include games, arts and crafts and storytime – and are often based around a theme.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe bus bingo, snowman competitions or a treasure hunt.

Both Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club operate for 6 days and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. Evening clubs are also available to book in resort for an extra charge.

All our staff are UK-qualified, English-speaking and first-aid trained, and have had DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and reference checks. And we prioritise maintaining the correct adult:child ratios.

Please note, all childcare is an extra charge and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. In some instances, childcare does not extend the full length of the ski season. Please contact the sales team for additional information.

In the French Alps' Savoie region, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built villages and 4 traditional villages. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a l...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts and a wide choice of different ski schools for those new to skiing. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners. The blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin provides a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate skiers, La Plagne is paradise. 77% of the runs are graded either blue or red. Particular favourites are the run from La Grand Roch...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Try snowmobiling at night, ice climbing in Champagny, husky sledding, paragliding, extreme tobogganing and more! One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are various ways you can choose to go down it, but they are all guaranteed to give you a thrill as you will hurtle down at speeds ranging from 80 km/hr up to a lightening 120...
