The Mount Royal Hotel definitely has the best location of any hotel – right in the heart of Banff Town and the ski shuttle bus stops directly outside. The rooms are all furnished to a high standard with cosy couples rooms perfect for people on a budget. The excellent restaurant is renowned for its steak and ribs, plus there’s a bar with pool tables to have an après ski drink in.

Mt Norquay’s runs are sheltered by trees - head up on the Cascade chair for wide and easy-going greens like Temptation and Speculation. Intermediates can take the Mystic Express to a number of blues like Bruno’s gully, where you have the opportunity to dabble in a bit of powder. The North American Chair serves some exhilarating black diamonds (don’t miss the bumps on the Memorial Bowl) and a double diamond - Lone Pine. The whole area is known for its laid back après and friendly locals.
