Overview - apartment description - Les Chalets Edelweiss Apartments, Plagne 1800 description

Located in the picturesque village of Plagne 1800, Les Chalets Edelweiss Apartments offer ski-in, ski-out access to the Paradiski area.

The chalet-style buildings are set in a horseshoe formation, housing 83 apartments between them. There are a range of sizes to choose from, with some apartments sleeping four people, while others can sleep up to eight. No matter how big your party is, though, you’re guaranteed bright, charming and contemporary spaces with ambient lighting, sleek furnishings and open social spaces. What’s more, most even have balconies.

If you’re planning on cooking most nights of the week, then you can fill them up with groceries from the well-stocked Spar supermarket, just 200m from the residence.

After hours of surrounding yourself with frozen water particles, end your day immersed in the soothing waters of the indoor heated swimming pool. If you want to warm up further, then have a session in the sauna or steam room.

If you’re more of a social bunny, then settle down in one of the Chesterfield-style sofas in the communal lounge and catch up with friends and family before getting competitive with a game of pool.

Please note:

Beds made upon arrival and end-of-stay cleaning is not included as standard.

Families - any extra notes for parents with children

Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club is based in the building next door to the Chalet Les Cimes Blances , a 3-minute walk from the Chalets Edelweiss Apartments.

Pepi Penguin Nursery (6 months - 4 years) is run by our UK-qualified childcare staff and held in a dedicated room equipped with games and toys. Outdoor play included (weather and parental consent permitting).

What's included:

  • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
  • 2-course hot lunch
  • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
  • A daily routine and activities report for your child
Activities vary daily. We'll find time for stories, singing, arts and crafts including painting and collage making, plus messy play in the sand tray and free play with age-relevant toys set out for the children to choose what they want to do.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe snowy walks, a gondola ride or snow painting. And if your child is used to a sleep, we'll factor that in too.

Beanie Bear Club (4-8 years) provides plenty of fun-filled days as our childcare staff offer a combination of care and skiing, which includes 6 x AM ski lessons, pick-up and drop-off from ski lessons, lunch and afternoon care by Crystal staff in the dedicated Beanie Bear Club room.

What’s included:
  • Full day care from 8.30am to 5pm
  • 6 x AM ski lessons, ski school drop-offs and pick-ups*
  • Child skis, boots and helmet hire
  • 2-course hot lunch
  • Snacks and drinks throughout the day
* Lift passes aren't included as each child's needs are different. If and when your child feels confident enough to use the lifts, you'll need to buy a lift pass locally.

Activities vary daily – to include games, arts and crafts and storytime – and are often based around a theme.

We're also really keen to take in some fresh mountain air each day, so we aim to have an outdoor activity at least once a day – maybe bus bingo, snowman competitions or a treasure hunt.

Both Pepi Penguin Nursery and Beanie Bear Club operate for 6 days and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. Evening clubs are also available to book in resort for an extra charge.

All our staff are UK-qualified, English-speaking and first-aid trained, and have had DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) and reference checks. And we prioritise maintaining the correct adult:child ratios.

Please note, all childcare is an extra charge and must be pre-booked to guarantee a place. In some instances, childcare does not extend the full length of the ski season. Please contact the sales team for additional information.

A fabulous all-rounder: ski the Paradiski’s wonderful mix of tree-lined trails, knee-deep off piste and wide open cruisers, before returning to whichever purpose built village or age-old hamlet you’re staying in. La Plagne’s easily one of Europe’s best ski resorts and one we visit again and again.

In the Savoie region of the French Alps, La Plagne was established in the early sixties and now consists of 11 villages: 7 purpose built and 4 traditional. The aptly named Plagne Centre at the heart of the resort is the main hub of shops, restaurants and après ski. Just underneath lies Plagne 1800, a cluster of chalets spread across a steep hillside. Higher up are Aime-la-Plagne, Plagne-Soleil and Plagne-Villages, all accessible via chairlifts from Plagne Centre. Plagne Bellecote rests over a low ridge to th...
There are plenty of nursery slopes with access to free beginner lifts for those new to skiing. This is complimented by a wide choice of different ski schools ready to cater to your particular needs. The slopes around the Belle Plagne area are particularly suitable for beginners, with the blue run linking Les Bauches to Montchavin, providing a manageable step up in difficulty from the nursery slopes. For those who class themselves as intermediate standard skiers this really is paradise. 77% of the runs are gra...
It might not rival Val d'sere or Verbier for their wild party scenes, but this is an exceptional resort for unique après ski opportunities. Spend the night in the Black Sheep Igloos, facing Mont Blanc, complete with a fondue meal and a morning wakeup call with breakfast. If this isn’t your idea of fun then ice climbing in Champagny and husky sledding are also on offer. One experience not to be missed is the bobsleigh track, used for Olympic training. There are a variety of ways you can choose to go down it, bu...
