You couldn’t be closer to the slopes than at the Kohlerhof Hotel. The slope into Fügen runs past the hotel, and the Spieljochbahn I gondola is next door. So, when it’s time to ski, all you need to do is step outside and click in. In the mood to après? The lively Piz Pub bar (also run by the hotel) is only a matter of metres away.

Inside, it’s traditional Austrian – picture wood-panelled walls, with pops of red and warm, low lighting to amp up the cosy factor. There’s a stylish look in the huge hotel spa too. Skylights flood the space with natural light – and of course, all your spa essentials are sorted, from pools to massages and treatments. The sauna and outdoor pool is in the nude area of the spa, so if you want to use these, you’ll need to do as the locals do and leave your swimsuit in the changing room.

Food-wise, you’ll start your day tucking into a tasty buffet, where you can take your pick from continental classics and cooked fare, like bacon and eggs. There’s afternoon tea, cakes and snacks to tide you over until dinner, and in the evenings, you’ll get a choice of different dishes from a 4-course set menu.
