CHILDCARE - PRIVATE NANNIES

We are delighted to again be partnering with Meribel Nanny Services to provide all of our specialist childcare.

Meribel Nanny Services is managed by owner, who has over 10 years' experience in providing professional childcare services. All of the nannies employed by Meribel Nanny Services are qualified, experienced and DBS checked.

Meribel Nanny Services can provide in-chalet Private Nannies, who can take care of your children in the comfort of your chalet. Your nanny will arrive with toy boxes and plenty of arts and crafts supplies to keep your children entertained throughout the week. A full programme of indoor and outdoor activities is designed to keep children happy, enthusiastic and well occupied on family ski holidays.

Childcare is extremely popular and as such gets booked up very quickly. We would strongly recommend that you enquire about childcare availability at the time of booking your chalet, to avoid disappointment. Our sales team can answer any questions you may have on the service and check availability for you.

They will visit you in your chalet on your arrival day to talk through how the week will plan out and, if required, discuss any preferences or requests.

Meribel Nanny Service’s nannies are also available to book for babysitting on the chalet staff night off, at an additional cost. If you think you might like to book babysitting, we would again strongly recommend that you enquire about availability at time of booking, to avoid disappointment.

CHILDREN'S MEALS AND EQUIPMENT

Our chefs all have experience in catering for infants and children. Before your arrival, please let us know your children's likes, dislikes, allergies & any preferences that you may have for your children's meals with your chef.
We encourage an early children’s tea between 5.30pm-6pm, allowing parents to enjoy some “grown up” time during dinner. However, if you have booked exclusive use of a whole chalet, we are happy to cater for family meals, which can be organised with the chef prior to arrival. If a shared chalet is booked, we ask that children up to the age of twelve eat at the earlier children's supper.

To allow for a hassle-free family holiday, we ensure there is an ample supply of everything you’ll need, including children’s beds and cots with linen, high chairs, bibs, emergency nappies, toboggans, baby backpacks, CD player, TV/DVD player, books, music & video library, toys & game box, baby listening devices, sterilisers and children’s crockery & cutlery.

All of our vehicles have children’s car seats and are fitted with seatbelts.

SKI SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN

We advise that you book ski schools directly so that requirements and abilities can be accurately discussed. However, we are more than happy to give you recommendations so please give us a call to find out more.

Catered Chalet

Our enviable catered chalet portfolio is the core of the business: all our inclusive ski holidays are renowned for excellent service. When you stay in one of our catered ski chalets, you’ll have access to a team of highly qualified chefs, hosts, drivers and nannies who are available to anticipate your every need.

While each property has its own character and stylish comforts, some features are standard in all of our catered ski chalets:

  • Dedicated chalet host and chef to look after you throughout your stay.
  • Breakfast served every morning, with array of cereals, pastries and a cooked breakfast to set you up for a day on the slopes.
  • Freshly prepared four-course dinner including canapés and a glass of fizz on six nights.
  • Afternoon tea and homemade cake or biscuits laid out for you.
  • Complimentary wine, beer and soft drinks throughout your stay.
  • Complimentary newspapers.
  • Luxury chauffeur service from 8am to 10pm every day, covering all of the Méribel area.
  • Lift pass pre-ordering and delivery service.
  • Sunday changeover day.

Food

We are passionate about food and drink. The menus served in our chalets reflect this and we think would be best described as delicious, imaginative and freshly produced. Our resort manager and head chef Ken, will soon be busy training up all the chefs on a variety of wonderful dishes. Here's a quick taster of what to expect:

  • At breakfast, look out for yoghurt and freshly made compote along with various cooked options.
  • Mouthwatering cakes for afternoon tea or perhaps you would like to sample a charcuterie platter instead with breads and pickles.
  • For canapés, Yakitori salmon skewers with hot and sour cucumber or maybe pressed game terrine with homemade carrot chutney.
  • A sample dinner menu might consist of a Mediterranean vegetable tart with pistou followed by braised shoulder and seared rump of lamb accompanied by creamed spinach, mash and an olive jus. Followed by poached pears, crumble, ice cream, poaching syrup and of course a selection of both interesting and regional cheeses.

Wine

Our wines are all carefully selected and chosen to compliment the food we serve. Your chalet host will reccommend wines at the start of each meal, however we understand wine is subjective and if you have a favourite! We are delighted to continue to be working with the Languedoc winemaker Paul Boyer. Many of our returning guests will now be very familiar with his superb wines.

We update Impala Lodge's details often, but facilities do change. e.g. some extras listed by the supplier as "free" or included might only be for the first time you use them, or for one time per party, then charged for further use. If any specific feature is essential to your holiday, make sure you ask us to confirm the details of it before you book your holiday.

3 Valleys ski area Excellent ski schools Lively après ski

Meribel has a special place in many Brit's hearts – not simply because it’s right in the middle of the biggest ski area on Earth. A resort for long ski days, ski-boot-stomping après and cosy chalets, there’s a great deal to do and ski here, which is why many of us have been coming back for decades.

Meribel's location is tricky to beat, slap bang in the centre of the mammoth Three Valleys ski area. British made, and largely Brit run, it's a destination we flock to year after year for a homely atmosphere in a good looking resort with more than enough pistes for a week (or three). It's made up of a huddle of gorgeous hamlets, built in traditional wood and stone and surrounded by thick woodland. The main area is Meribel Centre (usually known just as Meribel). A traditional alpine village with choc-box chale...
Meribel is one of the best ski resorts to learn in. There are three beginner areas known as 'Ski Facile' (easy ski) plus great green pistes to practise on including Le Foret and Altiport. Both runs are carefully planned out so you can practice at your own pace in quiet surroundings. If you're skiing with children, there are fantastic ski schools and child-orientated areas, including animal sculptures scattered around the trees at the 'Pistes des Animaux' where children can learn about local wildlife as they e...
Whether your day on the hill leaves you wanting to relax with a vin chaud, have a pint and play pool, or party the night away, your time off the slopes can be as varied as the day spent cruising the incredible Trois Vallees. It's said that you haven't experienced après ski here (or anywhere for that matter) until you've sampled toffee vodka in Le Rond Point, which is easily one of the most famous après ski bars in the world - complete with a slide down to the toilets! Meribel's rightly famous for its nightl...
