Overview: hotel description: Hotel Waldhof description

Want to be first-lift ready with minimal fuss getting from your hotel in the morning? Then choosing the Hotel Waldhof will put you a mere 3 minutes walking distance from Scheffau’s Bergbahn gondola.

The hotel itself is primarily split in two (the main building and the Landhaus,) with a couple of other smaller buildings dotted around the grounds. The main part of hotel houses the buffet restaurant, where at breakfast you can fuel up on bacon, eggs, sausages and continental options before setting off for an exciting day on the slopes. Plus, families staying here can request earlier meal times in the evening for children.

You’ll find the Waldhof Alm there as well – a popular bar and à la carte restaurant. The spa and sauna is located in the main area too, make sure to pay a visit if you’re keen to rejuvenate any sore muscles ready for the next day. So if your room is in the Landhaus building, you’ll need to walk across to the main hotel hub for meal times and use the other facilities.

Scheffau itself is a quiet town, but the centre can be reached if you’re prepared for an uphill walk from the Waldhof Hotel, or save those legs and catch the bus. There’s a small handful of bars, a few shops, and bowling if you fancy a bit of friendly competition.

Please note:

Some rooms are in the main building, and some are in the Landhaus. If staying in the Landhaus, there will be a short walk across the car park to the main building for meals and use of other facilities.

Facilities: Hotel Waldhof features

· free WiFi · bar · lounge · sun terrace · Waldof Alm après bar · live music · sauna · steam room · Austrian bowling alley · in-house shop · ski room · heated boot rack

Room Types: Hotel Waldhof bedrooms

Rooms are in either the main building or the Landhaus. If staying in the Landhaus you’ll need to cross the car park to reach the restaurant and other amenities. The rooms each come with a satellite TV, free WiFi, telephone, hairdryer and a safe is available in reception.

Twin room (main building) sleeps 2: Austrian twin beds, private shower and WC.

Twin room (Landhaus building) - sleeps 2-3 (max 3 adults): Austrian twin beds, extra single sofa bed, private shower & WC, balcony or terrace.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

On the south-west side of the staggering Wilder Kaiser mountain range, this pretty village is Austrian through and through, with two lovely old churches and classic chalet-style buildings housing family-run restaurants and gasthof’s. The surroundings are spectacular, with glorious winter walking routes leading through trees and past frozen alpine lakes. Though it feels far, far away, you’re no more than an hour’s drive from Innsbruck airport, and a fraction longer from Salzburg. The taxi from Wörgl train ...
The resort’s home to 3 nursery slopes: pistes 77 and 78 at the top of the Brandstadl gondola, and no. 79 found just on the outskirts of the village. There’s a beautiful return back down to the resort (piste 61), which beginners who’ve conquered the basics will love. To keep more competent beginners entertained, you’ll find a wide array of blues around top of the Brandstadl. Intermediates are fantastically catered for here - venture slightly higher up to the Eiberg peak, which is surrounded by some wonderfu...
The village’s small size gives it a homely Tyrolean feel, which is well conveyed through the selection of bars, restaurants and activities on offer here. The Stern Bar’s Red Bull tent at the bottom of the Brandstadl gondola is the loudest watering hole you’ll come across in this neck of the woods – Austrian après ski as we know and love it with big events seeing dancing on tables and copious amounts of Jägermeister. Back in the village the atmosphere’s laid back and friendly. The Village Pub does ju...
