Overview: hotel description: Hotel & Spa Le Savoie description

The Hotel & Spa Le Savoie has an extremely convenient location on Val d’Isère’s central main street and a short walk to the ski lifts. The spa hotel provides an informal and relaxed atmosphere for our British guests.

Great location

Located on the main street of Val d'Isere the Hotel & Spa Le Savoie has a prime position in resort. The Solaise Express lift for the Solaise and Le Fornet side of the ski area, or the Olympique gondola if you want to ski across towards Tignes, are just a short walk away from the hotel.

Sweeping stairs lead you from street level to the welcoming reception and fireside lounge area on the first floor. From here it opens into the attractive open-plan restaurant and bar. The smart interiors combine the warmth and traditional feel of wood, local stone and fine fabrics with stylish modern touches, creating a comfortable atmosphere.

Unwind and relax

At the end of a day of exploring the Tignes-Val d'Isere Ski Area, there is nowhere better to relax and unwind than the wellness area with an indoor pool. The extensive spa area is located on the ground floor of the hotel. Sooth your muscles and relax in the sauna or steam room, or enjoy lazing on the loungers with mountain views.

Home cooked comforts

The Hotel & Spa Le Savoie is on a half board basis which includes breakfast, afternoon tea and evening meals with wine included. There's a staff day off midweek when only breakfast is provided leaving you free to choose a restaurant of your choice. A hearty breakfast buffet including a cooked breakfast, will set you up perfectly for skiing, and tasty afternoon tea treats will be ready to welcome you back ‘home’ each day. The attractive open plan dining room sets the scene for your evening meals including Le Savoie’s choice of menu. For the younger guests there is a 'High Tea' served slightly earlier which often includes child friendly dishes. Family dining is also available so you can have dinner as a family.

Why's this a choice property?

Welcoming hotel team - The friendly hotel team are on hand to make your holiday enjoyable and restful. Throughout the week you can enjoy home cooked comforts and tasty afternoon tea, the staff will ensure all the tidying up is done for you - just sit back, relax and enjoy the fabulous skiing.

Central location - The hotel benefits from having a central location in resort, so you are just a short walk away from the main ski lifts which take you up to the Tignes-Val d'Isere Ski Area

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. "Accommodation nice and clean, staff very friendly."

Simon

Accommodation was good, smart basic, wasn’t super lux but was nice, clean, staff very friendly very helpful, mixture of aussies, kiwis, italin Spanish, English. My daughter thought she lost her boots but the staff searched the boot room and found them for her. The food was really nice, by the last day felt like I couldn’t have 7 courses, sometimes it would be nice for a simpler menu for the kids would be helpful, not super basic but something a bit simpler, but they were very helpful in catering for my fussy kids. Boot rooms were good, heated, swimming pool, pool table, afternoon tea was nice. Very simple access, right in the centre of Val d’Isere, 4 or 5 minute to slopes. The pizza place across the road is really good – the Garage was very very good. Went to fondue place that was very good - La Corniche.

" It couldn’t have been better! "

Everything was fantastic, I was very impressed. The rooms and facilities were all very nice, the rooms were spacious too. All very good. The food was amazing. We thought it was excellent and they were generous with the wine in the evenings too. We had actually been to Cervinia/Zermatt the year before and stopped at a Michelin Star restaurant, but we thought the food wasn’t half as good as the Le Savoie! The hotel was in an excellent location, only about a couple hundred yards away from memory. Not difficult at all.

"Absolutely amazing fabulous place!"

Absolutely amazing fabulous place, it felt luxury and felt comfortable, and would 100% def book again without any hesitation. The food was great the afternoon tea was great, they had a table big enough for us, a real chalet feel in a hotel. The location was 10/ 10 minutes from the slopes. 4.5/5

"Beautiful and Well Located"

Kiah, SNO staff

This property deserves it's platinum status. There's a choice of Classic rooms, Suites and you can even combine these into Super Suites for larger groups or families. All rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated (the suites are ginormous!) and the communal areas are equally lovely. It has an in house ski shop so you don't have to walk any distance to collect hire and the shops, bars and restaurants are right on your doorstep. The ski lifts take about 3 minutes to walk to, but for a property this size to be so central and luxurious and still affordable it has to have one (very small) downside! It's a very easy walk through the centre even with ski boots on. I'd thoroughly recommend Le Savoie for guests that would like something with a higher standard of service than a luxury chalet but with a more homely feel than a large 4 or 5 star hotel.

"Perfect"

The Savoie was about the most perfect hotel we’d stayed at when on a skiing holiday. Firstly, it had just been renovated so everything was modern and brand new. The decor was very trendy and tasteful throughout. Secondly, our room (504) was big and spacious, with a really nice balcony. Thirdly, the catering – the meals the chef created were ridiculously brilliant. All the staff were welcoming and we had no issues at all. We’ve since stayed in Val d’Isere in a chalet which is right next to the lifts, which made me realise that the only downside to the Savoie is that it’s a bit of a trek in ski boots (100-200 yards).
