This package holiday to Hotel Regina in Solden, Austria departs Saturday 7th January 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. It's not included in the basic price of your holiday and is usually paid locally. For reference, the average charged in winter 15/16 was between 50p and £2 per person, per night.

No resort with the tagline ‘Think Big, Think Solden’ is likely to be dull. With lively après-ski it’s an Austrian resort that definitely packs a punch... but it’s not all about the parties – with 2 glaciers, 2 mountains and over 140km of routes there’s more than enough to explore.

Established in 1890 and having grown gradually since, Solden is a popular ski destination sitting at 1377m in the beautiful Ötztal valley. Innsbruck airport is only an hour away and Ötztal train station only 40 minutes away (which provides bus services to take you to the resort). With a river running through and traditional Tyrolean style buildings, Solden is a fairly compact town with most hotels, restaurants and clubs on the main street overlooked by the striking parish church. Three smaller villages a...
A decent variety of ski schools such as ‘Yellow Power’ make this a great place to both learn and improve. Innerwald (near the bottom of Gaislachkogl gondola) has some excellent nursery runs where learners can get to grips with the basics without having to contend with faster skiers. There’s plenty available for beginners with 67km of blue routes including some particularly good runs on the Tiefenbach glacier. Practice on the Blue 38 from the top of the Tiefenbach – it’s a roomy, simple but long 11km down...
You’ll find oodles to do in Solden – particularly if you’re after some lively après-ski. Parties begin in the clubs at the bottom of the Giggijoch mountain such as Cuckoo’s Bar and Kuckuck at around 4pm and then continue well into the night in the bars and clubs on the main street. Popular venues include the Fire & Ice bar and Bierhimmel club which party hard late into the night. If you want to keep up-to-date with sport, head over to Chris & Co.’s for a few beers and a good time. Solden is known for its...
