Locations don’t get any better in Tignes Le Lac – the Levanna is right on the slopes, with ski-in, ski-out access, just a minute from the gondola. Even some of the rooms have views of the piste. And if you want to get to any of the other villages, you can hop on the ski bus that stops just outside.

The building itself is typically Savoyarde, with lots of wood and stone, so it feels traditional and cosy. When you get back from skiing, you can kick back with a drink on the sun terrace and take in views of the Grand Motte glacier. And you don't have to go far for nightlife – the bar here stays open late. If wellness is more your thing, spend some time unwinding in the hot tub, sauna and steam room.

Meals are also traditional, with a good buffet spread each morning and three courses of mountain fare in the evening.
