Location - where is Hotel Val Chavière

The Hotel Val Chavière sits happily on the side of one of Val Thorens’ main home runs, alongside the Pionniers chairlift. With its bottom station only a few metres away, you’ll be out the door and zooming back past your hotel-room window in seconds. This chairlift climbs above the resort up to the legendary Folie Douce. From here you can catch lifts over to Méribel and Courchevel. For access to the rest of the Three Valleys ski area, follow the slope down from the hotel and past Pionniers towards a wider range of chairlifts and gondolas, as well as the brilliant beginners area. Of an evening, walk up the hill towards the Rue de Caron – it’s lined with shops, bars, snack bars and the amazing underground Malaysia Club.

Overview - hotel description - Hotel Val Chavière description

The relaxed chalet-style Hotel Val Chavière provides a good standard of accommodation in world-renowned Val Thorens, the highest ski resort in Europe.

Each of the 48 rooms is modest in design. However, while the décor may not be anything to shout about, you’re bound to love the views from the balconies – open your doors to breathtaking views across the slopes and watch the Pionniers chairlift whizz past you on its way up the mountain. You can’t get any more winter than that.

The rest of the hotel is pretty laidback too. There’s a cosy bar for a late-night tipple, a games room, and an outdoor terrace ideal for soaking up the sun. There’s also a little lounge area in the lobby – the perfect rendezvous before heading out on the town.

Where the hotel lacks in grandeur, it makes up with its food. Staying at the hotel on a half-board basis, you’ll get to enjoy complimentary morning and evening meals served in a quaint, Savoyard-style restaurant overlooking the piste. The breakfast is typical buffet fare, while dinners are comprised of five superbly presented courses – delicious.
