Renowned for its understated luxury, sublime service and fantastic food, the Fitz Roy is one of the stars of Val Thorens. It has a prime spot in the centre of the resort, close to the slopes, bars and shops.
Taking style inspiration from alpine forests, the hotel is decorated with natural wood and stone, and a blend of warm, neutral colours. The rooms overlook either the resort or the piste, and all come with a balcony.
There are plenty of spaces to unwind at Le Fitz Roy – cosy up with a book in the library, or lose yourself in the spa area, which has a sauna, hammam, and indoor pool that’s like a huge hot tub. Afterwards, settle down by the fire in the lounge and sample a cocktail from the impressive bar menu.
Come mealtimes, you’ll be treated to a plentiful selection for both breakfast and dinner. And during the day, you can ski back to the hotel for a drink on the terrace – or leave your skis in the rack and your boots on the warmers, and step inside for a spot of lunch.
