Renowned for its understated luxury, sublime service and fantastic food, the Le Fitz Roy is one of the stars of Val Thorens.
Taking style inspiration from Alpine forests, the hotel is decorated with natural wood and stone, and a blend of warm, neutral colours. The rooms overlook either the resort or the piste, and all come with a balcony.
There are plenty of spaces to unwind at Le Fitz Roy – cosy up with a book in the library, or lose yourself in the spa area, which has a sauna, a hammam, and an indoor pool that’s like a huge whirlpool. Afterwards, settle down by the fire in the lounge and sip your way through an array of weird and wonderful cocktails.
Come mealtimes, you’ll be treated to a plentiful selection for both breakfast and dinner. And during the day, you can ski back to the hotel for a drink on the terrace – or leave your skis in the rack and your boots on the warmers, and step inside for a spot of lunch.
