Hotel La Tovière Summary

Effortless style and luxury are combined with our professional ski guiding service and exceptional hospitality to ensure a truly memorable ski holiday.

Having been entirely rebuilt in 2012 and then completely renovated and redecorated in 2018, the Tovière is a wonderful example of craftsmanship and beautiful design, with the utmost attention to detail having been paid to every element. The enchanting ambience is created by the exquisite natural textures of aged wood, local stone and delightfully soft faux-fur, all beautifully lit, of course.

With a backdrop of snowy trees and towering rock, the hotel seamlessly complements its surroundings right opposite the slopes in the small hamlet of La Daille. The funicular and new La Daille gondola are just across the road from the hotel for high speed access into the heart of the world-class Val d’Isère-Tignes ski area.

The lower ground floor of the hotel is dedicated to wellness. Here you will find not only an indoor swimming pool, but also a sauna, hot tub, steam room and treatment rooms with luxurious Temple Spa products – essential if you’re making the most of the 300km ski area.

For a moment of calm, the hotel’s wood panelled library provides a comfortable sanctuary for an hour or two – particularly savoury when coupled with a glass of wine from the well-stocked bar. With 23 bedrooms and six magnificent suites, Hotel La Tovière is able to accommodate any group’s requirements when it comes to sleeping arrangements.

The myriad of exceptionally well-appointed bedrooms are decorated with care in warm and relaxing tones, while deep mattresses, fluffy throws and luxurious furnishings ensure a very relaxing sleep for all.

After the slopes close for the day, the bar and lounge make the perfect setting to recount your days’ exploits over an expertly mixed cocktail or a well-earned local beer. Guests with children will love the kids’ corner which provides amusement for the whole family with a selection of board games, books and toys.

Once the coffees have been savoured after your fulfilling evening meal, the lively resort of Val d’Isère is a short bus or taxi ride away. Or for those wanting to keep ski legs mobile, it’s a crisp 10 to 15 minute flat walk and an opportunity for some piste-basher spotting on the mountain.

In France's Rhone Alp region, Val d'Isere (pronounced: val de saire/sare/ser or val d sere) is widely thought of as one of the most brilliant and beautiful ski areas in the world. In keeping with the giddyingly gorgeous surroundings, the resort itself is one of France's prettiest - a huddle alpine hamlets formed from cosy wood and stone chalets. With the original village dating back to the 13th century and a Christmas-card-worthy church steeple at its centre, there’s alpine charm by the bucket load. While dre...
Skiers in Val d'Isere are schussing in the tracks of some of the world's greatest skiers. Olympic medallists Marielle and Christine Goitschel learned to ski here, not to mention triple gold winner Jean-Claude Killy, after whom the wider ski area is named. As an indication of this place's premier status - the resort has hosted championships including the 1992 Olympics, the World Alpine Ski Championships in 2009 and World Cup events every December. If some of the best skiers in history have learned here, begi...
Famed for its après ski, there's no chance of a dull evening in Val. Living up to its name, you'll experience ‘sweet madness' at the original Le Folie Douce, which brings you some of the best après ski in Europe - including dancers, musicians, raining champagne and much more... Once that closes, Dicks T Bar's a local legend, staying open into the early hours each night. Bananas is another firm favourite, much loved for its crafty cocktails and slope-side location. In Val d'Isere's 90-something restaurants, ...
