The Kirchboden’s your classic Austrian stay, starting with the looks – think balconies and timber cladding on the outside, and plenty of pinewood panelling from the bar to bedrooms inside. Next up are the meals. Big breakfast buffets set you up for the day, then in the evening you’ve got four courses of fill-your-boots fare, with weekly Austrian-themed dinners to give you a true taste of the region.

When it’s time to the hit the slopes, walk a few minutes to get to the gondola that’ll whisk you to the centre of the Snow Space ski area. Or to head further afield, stroll to the ski bus and take ride to explore the runs in one of the neighbouring valleys.

Moving onto extras and the hotel bar is your spot when it’s après o’clock. Sit back in a booth for a tipple and a chinwag, or add a little friendly competition with darts and a game of pool instead. There’s also a wellness area, so pack your swimsuit for some laps in the pool or a spell in the sauna and steam room – just the thing to recharge the legs ready for another day on the mountain.
