Found in the state of Salzburg, the village of Saalbach (officially titled Saalbach-Hinterglemm) is Austria’s second most popular tourist destination for good reason. If it’s your first time, there are two beginner slopes just above the main street and a choice of excellent ski and snowboard schools. If you’re ready to head up the mountain there are novice-friendly blue slopes like the run all the way down from the summit of the Bernkogel.
