This package holiday to Hotel Gotthard in Lech, Austria departs Saturday 14th January 2017, for a 7 night stay on a "half board" board basis. A local tourist tax (Taxe de Sejour or Kurtaxe) is levied by many councils in European ski resorts. It varies by standard and type of accommodation and is age dependent, so not everyone is charged. This is known as one of the 12 classic resorts when it comes to skiing and is part of the ‘Best of the Alps’ group. Also crowned 2004’s Prettiest Village in Europe, Lech oozes traditional alpine charm accompanied by a world-class ski area with some of the best snow in the Alps. The resort’s premier status in the ski world makes it a favourite of the rich and Royal – Princess Diana used to ski here and don’t be surprised if you see the likes of Tom Cruise and Vladimir Putin on the slopes! You’ll find an ub...
This is famously the setting of the hilarious skiing scene in ‘Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason’, although you won’t have any Bridget-like disasters on the piste if you take advantage of the excellent instruction and beginner slopes on offer. You’ll find some lovely nursery slopes behind the village church (you can’t miss it) and up around Oberlech to practice on until you feel confident enough to take the Schlegelkpof and explore some brilliant gentle terrain for skiers and snowboarders. With a sizable...
Jägertee (rum, black tea and spices) is the local’s drink of choice, making it a must-try when you’re back from the slopes. Most of the nightlife here reflects Lech’s status as an uber-posh resort, with venues emitting high-end and exclusive feel. While it doesn’t have the same legendary reputation as the après in Austrian resorts like St Anton, you can still find a brilliant variety of venues offering a mix of the traditional and contemporary – chop and change between traditional tea dances and late nigh...

"Amazing boutique ski hotel"

Clare S, Stockport
5/ out of 5
I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Gotthard, it’s a really lovely boutique hotel and was worth paying a bit more for. It looked like it had just been refurbished - the whole place was amazing. It’s modern but in a way that suits the rest of Lech. The bedrooms are lovely, with beautiful curtains and bedding. Breakfasts were fantastic with more than enough to eat, they have their own bakery on site and serve fresh breads every morning. The hotel’s right on the road so it has a perfect location. The spa facilities were fantastic, very modern and clean with an infrared room, steam room, pool with amazing seats around it… everything you could want in a spa.
