Axamer Lizum is a snow-sure ski resort located south-west of Innsbruck. Boasting a top altitude of 2340m, it’s the highest resort in the area and one of the highest in Austria. Surrounded by attractive forestry, this scenic village is fairly small, quiet and mostly traffic free with traditional Austrian architecture. The resort is conveniently positioned 25km from Innsbruck and is a short transfer from the nearest airport. Whilst it’s primarily a haven for intermediate and advanced skiers, Axamer Lizum also accommodates well for beginners with brilliant ski schools and some good quality nursery slopes at the base of the mountain.
