Overview - hotel description - Hotel Du Golf, Arc 1800 description

A real focal point in Arc 1800, the Hotel du Golf is an ideal choice for any kind of skier. It’s in a ski-in, ski-out location right next to the slopes and close to the shops and bars in resort.

This impressive hotel, which is part of the Belambra group, has large public areas, decorated with local wood and stone to enhance the cosy atmosphere, and contemporary furnishings to add a modern twist. The 246 rooms have all the amenities you need, including a minibar and safe.

Start the day with a buffet breakfast, where you can load up your plate with everything from fruit and pastries to bacon and eggs. Visit the roof terrace to enjoy snacks and views, and at night, meals are taken in the main Le Golf restaurant. There are also two à la carte restaurants for when you want to treat yourself – savour an Italian brasserie meal at Le Petit Zinc, or sample the region’s famous fondue and raclette at Le Mont Blanc.

Done skiing for the day? Go for a dip in the heated indoor pool, or soothe sore muscles with a trip to the Deep Nature Spa, which is home to a sauna and whirlpool, and offers a range of treatments and massages. And after dinner, head to one of the two bars to enjoy a drink by the fireplace, play a game of pool or listen to live jazz music.

Families are well taken care of here, too – there are free kids’ and teens’ clubs available during French school holidays, for children aged 6-17 years, as well as regular entertainment like games, shows and disco nights.

Les Arcs came to be in 1968 after a group of ski instructors and architects dreamt up a resort with all the perks of a village but a mountainside location. It grew into one of the largest, most incredible ski areas in the Alps. The closest airport is Chambery with a transfer time of a couple of hours and there are various transport links from Geneva, Lyon and Grenoble too. Present day Les Arcs consists of four main purpose built villages. The original resort, Arc 1600, was created for doorstep skiing and is di...
As you'd expect from one of the biggest ski areas on the planet, there's everything from gorgeous tree-lined runs to wild, white-knuckle off-piste. For beginners, each of the 3 main Arcs has “ski tranquille” zones and the wide beginner runs leading to the resort have gentle gradients that are perfect for practicing. Local instructors are on hand to show you the ropes, with ski schools based in each of the main villages (1800 has the most). There are magic carpet lifts at 1800 and 2000 - an easy way for newbies...
If you’re looking for a party, Arc 1800 is hands down the place to be. It's hosted events like the legendary Snowbombing festival over the years and has oodles of watering holes like the Red Hot Saloon (or the 'Red Bar' to use local lingo). If you’re looking for more of a French style après spot, Ambiente has a really cool atmosphere and lots of nice cocktails (happy hour usually starts at 4!) while Le club 1950 your venue if you’re looking to party into the wee hours. Arc 1600's a little quieter but for goo...
