You’re just a short stroll from the lifts and village buzz, or hop on the ski bus a minute from the door and you’ll be clicking into your skis in around five minutes. After a day on the mountain, there’s a sauna and steam room waiting to help you recharge, plus a cosy bar for a relaxed drink.

The hotel’s got that classic Austrian look – cream walls, wooden balconies and plenty of Alpine character. Inside, it’s simple and unfussy, with warm wood tones and traditional patterns dotted around. Rooms keep things comfy rather than flashy, and if you fancy maxing out on those mountain views, you can upgrade to one with a balcony.

Half board here means you’ll start the day with a hot-and-cold buffet breakfast – think fresh bread, eggs, cheeses and more. A great advantage of Westendorf’s position is the fact that slopes there are generally quieter than on the main SkiWelt circuit due to most of the skiing being on the other side of the valley between Brixen and Scheffau. The après is lively but compared with nearby Kitzbühel; it’s more contained and family-oriented. That being said, there are some great places to have a drink after a day on the slopes.
