One of Obergurgl’s top hotels, the Austria has everything you’d want from a ski stay. It’s moments to the nearest piste, and the food and facilities are first-class. Then there’s the excellent family-run service, with friendly, local staff that’ll make you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Set in a quiet spot overlooking the village, the hotel itself has plenty of authentic Austrian charm. Panelled walls and chandeliers in the dining room add a dash of style to the classic alpine look, and it’s the same story up in the bedrooms, with their carved wooden bed frames and high-quality furnishings.
Finished skiing for the day? There’s no shortage of things to do here. Families will love the games room, with its pool table and arcade games – and there’s even free childcare available, so you can enjoy a leisurely après while the kids are having fun. And for some pampering, stroll over to the linked sister hotel – The Bellevue – to warm up in the sauna or soak up the views in the panoramic outdoor pool. Once you’re feeling refreshed, it’s time to think about dinner. There’s a varied menu each night, with traditional Tyrolean specialities and international dishes all on the menu.

Austrian twin beds
Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

Please note
Smart casual dress required for dinner – no trainers or tracksuits please.
Many Austrian hotels do not serve free tap water with meals.
When you arrive in the resort, the coach isn’t able to take you right up to the entrance of the Hotel Austria, so you’ll be dropped off close by. From there, a smaller vehicle will pick you up and take you the rest of the way.
