Hotel Alpenschlössl Summary

The Alpenschlössl has an almost fairytale feel to it. The name literally means 'mountain castle' and it's quite clear in its castle-esque buildings.

The hotel is in a set in a secluded spot in the middle of a meadow, high above Söll meaning the views of the Kaisergebirge Mountains from virtually every window are spectacular.

The ski area and lifts are around 4km away, but the hotel has its own ski bus to shuttle you to and from the slopes at the start and end of each day.

Look forward to some traditional Austrian cuisine, international dishes and a wide selection of fine wines. The bar area is cosy and a good place to kick back at the end of the day.

Wellness facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna and a steam bath and all within a bright and modern wellness area. There are also massage treatments available if you need a little TLC at the end of the day.

An unexpected and welcome facility is the modern wellness area. The stone and wooden walls are lit with tranquil colours have a wonderful grounding effect, much needed after a day of adrenalin on the mountains.

Take a gentle swim in the indoor swimming pool or rejuvenate yourself in one of the two saunas, steam room or emotion showers before kicking back in the relaxation room.

If you fancy a treat (and why not?) book in for a sports and beauty massage for some extra pampering.

The large and traditional dining area is a lovely place to enjoy the cuisine created by the experienced chef. Expect local dishes with local produce and a great variety of choices throughout your stay.

Start your days with a continental breakfast and move on to a four-course meal every evening. The menu includes soup, salad buffet, a choice of main and dessert. Your Christmas and New Year Gala meals are also included.

Though this is a quaint Austrian village with fantastic offerings for families, Söll still knows how to have a good time. Before you ski back down at the end of the day, stop at the Gipfelalm on Hohe Salve for a drink – it has a 360° panorama of over 70 high alpine peaks!
