Overview: hotel description: Hotel Alpenaussicht description

You’ll find a lot to love about the Alpenaussicht – from top-class cuisine to fantastic facilities, and of course that friendly, Tyrolean welcome. You’re perfectly placed for the pistes too. The nursery slopes are over the road and the nearest lift is moments away.

The hotel itself is in a scenic spot overlooking snow-covered meadows. Make the most of the panoramic views and round off the day sipping après drinks on the sun terrace. Or if saunas and steam rooms are more your style, enjoy a session in the spa before dinner. Speaking of food, you’re in for a treat. Savour fresh cheeses and cured meats from the hotel’s own farm and discover local specialities at the regular themed buffets – think warming stews and sweet, flaky pastries.

It’s a case of modern meets traditional when it comes to the décor. Cream-coloured walls and fabrics in rich reds and greens keep things bright and inviting while plenty of natural wood throughout adds that alpine feel. It’s the same story up in the bedrooms, and whether you pick a simple twin or opt for something more spacious, you’ll get peaceful space to end the day – not to mention beautiful mountain scenery when you draw the curtains each morning.

Many highly regarded ski schools are on hand for beginners – there's a gentle learning slope at the resort for picking up the basics. A mini club and ski kindergarten are available at the Obergurgl Ski School where skiing is taught in a fun and safe environment for little ones just starting. The Top-express Gondola takes you to Hochgurgl's higher altitudes. Wide pistes and amazing snow make this the perfect area for progressing beginners to test their abilities. The après starts on the mountains where there are many bars ready to serve skiers that well-deserved pick me up of warm glühwein. The skis come off at the lively Nederhütte, just above the resort, where merry skiers mingle with drinks accompanied by live music before getting up on the tables when the real party starts. The gondola next to the bar will take those a little unsteady on their skis back to the resort - when these close, skidoos run everyone back to base. Hohe Mut is another favourite amongst sk...
